Two things about "Bates Motel" were announced at the San Diego Comic-Con on Friday (June 22), according to the Hollywood Reporter. The first thing that was announced was that "Bates Motel" will be ending after season five. So that would be the upcoming season. The second thing is that Rihanna will be playing Marion Crane.

As most known, Marion Crane is the iconic character in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film, "Psycho" that meets her demise in the shower. The role was first played by Janet Leigh. "Psycho" was based on Robert Bloch's novel.

"Bates Motel" is a prequel to "Pyscho" and Freddie Highmore plays Norman Bates. His mother Norma is played by Vera Farmiga. The show airs on A&E.

So the final season of "Bates Motel" will be going into production in the fall and it'll be returning in 2017! What do you guys think of the casting news and about season five being the last? Share your thoughts in the comments!
