Kino Lorber announced today (July 25) the New York theatrical release of Mohamed Diab's "Clash." "Clash" is set entirely within the confines of a police van in Cairo, Egypt, two years after the Arab Spring.

It dramatizes the mass protests and political unrest after the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi by the Egyptian army.

"Clash" was an official selection at the Cannes, London, Cairo, and Palm Springs film festivals. It will open at New York's Village East Cinema on Aug. 25, 2017.After its New York release, "Clash" will be getting a national release in the fall.

Critics have called "Clash" a near-perfect original work and a perfectly executed, post-Arab Spring political thriller.
